From chicks hatching from eggs to being able to see how potatoes can create electricity to hundreds of thousands of bubbles, as well as enjoying free music lessons and costumed superheroes and princesses, the Kid’s World Festival 2011 submerged more than 5000 children in free activities, games and displays all designed to stimulate their minds, ears, eyes and senses.

the buried treasure
hunt in the sand was a big hit once again.
Kid’s World added to the Animal Instincts live exhibit with hatching chickens and ducks.

that is Animal Instincts Live head man and Kids World Founding Committee man Bob Schenck having fun with Iron Man.

kids and adults were fascinated by the chicks and expectations of the eggs.

This turtle was nicknamed "EC" for economic recovery!
We also started a new exhibit called the Green Machine, where children were exposed to the
sciences of alternative energies, including measuring electricity from potatoes and lemons.
.

it also had cool toys and giveaways
TJ’s Music World offered a Saturday afternoon concert and gave away a fender guitar and amp.
But of course, our walk around characters did their best to steal the show. From princesses to super heroes, kids of all ages were having a blast. The characters danced posed and played dodgeball.

On Sunday we had some bad weather around us, a few drops here and there but it could not keep away the kids.

The heroes even did some dancing. What a surreal background.

Captain Jack was chasing around Robin all day. For some reason he thought he was a bad guy.

The princesses were mostly volunteers

you never know who is going to show up at Kids World

This volunteer who manned the Kids World Mural and art exchange is from Kuwait and is a local college student.

We have the best volunteers

some smiles are priceless.

the princesses and super heroes got the mural going!
And of course, we are known for our bubbles! Kids World Committee man and founding board member Peter Belanger is also known as Barney Bubbles. He had an apprentice this year!

When you add thousands of bubbles to a festival things happen - good things.

even the adults turn into kids

and the kids well, you know what they like to do to bubbles! Look out below, Barney Bubble made a superhero bubble mask!

even our (grumpy and) distinguished elder statesman of the Kids World Committee can't help but smile all day.

we made some bubble stations this year.

And don't forget the KIDS WORLD MURAL! We will be hanging it soon... someplace public!

by the end of the festival both sides of the mural were beautiful

The art exchange was also inspirational
On Sunday, the very popular Dance
Exposition returned featuring a Michael Jackson dancer (picture from 2010) who will helped teach
children how to move to the beat.

lots of people got into the act
